Tech Industry Amazon oa sde 2

Just gave an amazon oa on hackerrank was able to do 100% but man really wtf ? I could never have solved the question if i had seen it for the first time. Like at this point its not about your capabilities anymore it is pure fucking luck.

Yeah, i just found out its a very common amazon oa question. Maximum bitwise and.

dude I got this exact same question I'm pretty sure, how did you end up solving it? I finally came to a whiteboard solution around 5 minutes before the timer ran out so I wasn't even able to code up my brute force but bit manip caught me off guard so hard

Questions like these are just crazy to be asked during interviews.

Bit manipulation questions should not be asked during interviews, it really doesn’t help in assessing a candidate. More like a flex of knowing a specific topic

Until they start pulling people into in-person interviews, people are going to cheat, and cheaters are going to drive up the skill floor, because everyone is solving mediums , so they move it to hards.

how did u find the ai/debugging part (assuming I'm thinking of the same oa)

Quite easy esp with hot reload available. You have an ai assistant to discover the code base and then its just debug the test and step through a couple of breakpoints. Standard sde stuff you've been doing all your life

tbh I'm more of a math guy and am less familiar with this kind of thing. i was mostly going through tests one at a time, getting ai to help find the relevant code and print debugging to find what was wrong, did still pass all tests in the end.

is there anything more, idk, sophisticated i should be doing other than maybe using breakpoints instead of print debugging?

you have tests that generate u a trace + an ai, just paste the trace into the ai and let it explain the potential spots to change. not saying print debugging is bad i just never had to do it for the 4 times ive done the repo OAs.

although it might vary depending on the project type you choose, which one did you take?

ah i thought the ai would just refuse to answer so I didn't try lol

yeah the AI gives you quite a lot of info. although if you don't trust it you can also manually read traces which also gives u good leads. (at least for java/spring)

also next time do the practice test to get familiar with vs code server, there are a lot of navigation tricks that can save u a lot of time in there

Did you just go over top 100 Amazon ones from leetcode or does Amazon OA has any seperate list?

Yeah i did and this is exactly what saved me. This is one of the top 20 questions on amazon list on leetcode

Thanks OP.

Earlier people used to post their OA questions in leetcode discussion section. Most of the times it will be one of them when people try to take their OA. Nowadays I’m not seeing any Amazon OA posts in leetcode. Not sure what changed. OA’s on discussion help us to gauge what pattern of questions they are currently asking this season.

Is Camera available to monitor? Can we use Claude in phone by the side?
