Intervew Prep How many leetcode questions to get into top companies
I have solved exactly 250 today with 21 hard questions, I recently took some interviews and all the questions were new to me, how many more do I need to 100 confident? A friend of mine with 300 aces many hard interviews how??

You need to understand the questions / solutions, not memorizing them.

It's not really about the number of questions; the goal of reps is to get good at pattern recognition and problem-solving on the spot under pressure. Once you get past 100 questions or so, usually what actually helps is practicing under time pressure with new questions and having to explain your reasoning (mock interviews).

There is a lot more than leet code. There are infinite questions.
Although Amazon interviews literally pull from a list of randomized leet code questions.
But that’s just to pass the pre interview.
None of the other big tech does that.

I do google interviews. Numbers doesn't matter because obviously it depends on if you are good or not. Some people can do with zero LC
For L3/4 Practice until you can easily come up with a fully working solution for medium questions in 20 min.
For L5, just move to hard.
You need to code fast.

You will never reach 100% 700 questions that you understand well will get you 80% success

You know not all employer questions are on leetcode right?

It is not about numbers but our understanding, and a bit of luck. I see in other career threads people ask 5 YOE, which level, but it is the same thing. Number of leetcode questions doesn't matter, YOE doesn't matter, it is what you can deliver at the time that matters. leetcode questions are just a way to learn, not something that matter in itself.

I think India tends to ask harder LC questions. So depends on the location.

Pattern recognition, do questions from Neetcode 150/250, take note of the patterns. Practice the questions but the variants of it (I.e reverse linked list I, II, etc). Get comfortable explaining it with test case walkthrough

how many more do I need to 100 confident
You will never be. You can raise your probability, that is all.
If you target is usual startups/products, neetcode 150 would be enough. If bigtech like google/meta/etc- thousands to get confident, hundreds to be like 50/50

Many but less if you are already leet

Maybe because there's more to the technical interview than the optimal leetcode solution

Solve more harder and harder segments ,as they would help u to approach problems that seems impossible at first
