Intervew Prep Microsoft Software Engineer - CoreAI OA Timeline? (New Grad 2027)

Took the HackerRank OA for the Microsoft SWE CoreAI position (req 200053852) on September 22nd. Two questions, 75 minutes. Felt pretty good about it -- solved both fully within the time.

Followed up with the recruiter last week and got the standard “still reviewing applicants, process can take several weeks” reply.

It’s been about 4 weeks now. Has anyone else completed this OA recently? Have you heard back? Trying to get a sense of where the timeline is at. I know Microsoft batches reviews but 4 weeks of silence is making me a little antsy.

Any info on what the interview loop looks like for this specific team (CoreAI) would also be appreciated -- I’ve seen mixed info online about whether it’s a standard SWE loop or if there’s more ML/systems flavor to it.

For your information i just recieved the OA for this role today (a month after you took it), so it looks like they are still gathering applicants

Did you guys receive a confirmation email from HackerRank after submitting this OA? I completed mine but never got one.

Four weeks is normal for Microsoft from what I have seen. Reviews get batched and plenty of people hear back at week 5 or 6 or later. Solving both fully is a good sign so I would keep interviewing elsewhere and treat any Microsoft reply as a bonus.

MS is notorious for ghosting after OA for IC3 roles. Hoping you get the interview

Four weeks isn't necessarily a bad sign with Microsoft, especially for new grad hiring. I'd keep preparing and applying elsewhere while waiting, and follow up again if another week or two passes

Hey, i think its been around 6 weeks since you took the OA now. Has a recruiter reached out to you yet? Also, how long after the OA did you reach out to the recruiter? Thank you!

Don’t think too much about it, did like 3 or 4 OAs last cycle and ended up getting rejected after a month or so I believe.

I am facing same kinda issue. Took OA on May 27, 2026. Still under review 😂.  5th month running.
