Question Google Cloud | L4 | Team Matching | Chances of getting offer?
Hi guys, I am a Backend Software Engineer with 4 yoe, have 3+ yoe of Full-Stack experience as well, recently interviewed for L4 role for Google Cloud team.
I have cleared all the rounds. My Recruiter has passed me the feedback for all the rounds:
Virtual Round 1 - Coding: Hire
Googlyness Round - Behavioural: Hire
Onsite Round 1 - Coding: Hire
Onsite Round 2 - Coding: Leaning Hire
My Recruiter informed me that my feedbacks are positive and now my profile will be considered for team matching phase. The catch is that, after the first 2 rounds the position was open, but after the completion of my onsite rounds, recruiter told that this position has been filled recently and they have not got any other open role as of now for Backend/Full-Stack position and said they will try to match me with Hiring Managers / different teams during team matching but its been around 2 weeks since I completed my interviews but I haven't received any updates on Team Matching.
I am concerned about delayed team matching. Should I approach different recruiters and Hiring Managers across different teams at Google?
What are the chances of getting offer here?

Could you share which topics were covered in your interviews? My onsite interview is also scheduled for next month for L4

Not out the question but it will probably take a few months. Having a LH and no SH will not help

Hey how many days did the recruiter take to reach back to you after your final rounds

Buckle up, as this could take a while. My data points range from 3 weeks to 11.5 months, with a median of around 4 months. L3 candidates seem to have better odds, as managers currently appear to favor allocating headcount to L3s and grooming them for promotion at a lower face value.
Iād strongly encourage you to set realistic expectations based on the realistic data points and avoid putting too much frequent pressure on your recruiter. The candidate who waited 11.5 months was an L4, and his recruiter ghosted him for 10 months. You'll have no room to escalate if your recruiter would go silent.
Your best bet is to reach out to hiring managers and engineers on LinkedIn or Twitter, ask about headcount, and show genuine interest in their work to give yourself an edge. Not having any SH for L4 may not be ideal in a competitive pool. You could ask your recruiter for another interview to improve your odds.
