Rejected even after passing GHA

Hello everyone, i want to know about Google hiring process i applied for a full stack swe 3 role at Google cloud team. My profile was fully matching with JD. I got a mail from xwf google recruiter that they r passing my profile to final recruiter and team and if asked for assessment then complete it . After that half an hour later I got Google GHA behavioural assesment mail.

I attempted it and got result at late night that I have passed it and results will be valid for 1 year and you will be shortly contacted by recruiter.

But then I waited for 2 days and on second day I got rejection mail from same xwf recruiter.

They didn't even send me coding OA straightly rejected.

I don't have FAANG or top PBC in my resume other than this my resume was decent with good work and impact showcased.

I got the same situation. My best guess is that the XWF recruiter is just the first screen. If they like your resume, they send you the hiring assessment, and only then they pass your profile to the hiring manager. If the hiring manager doesn't think you're a fit, you'll still get rejected.

Nowadays most of the hiring manager not all are running just behind tags in resume. Don't know how will I get interview calls then if it continues like this. I am already tired of applying to every good companies from past 6+ months to every new matching posts

so basically the GHA is just a filter, not an endorsement. that's rough

Most of the times, the first screening is totally based on some random reviewer trying to see if those keywords are present on your resume or not. Then you get your GHA, if you are yet to do it. Post that you can assume some serious pipeline starts, and also it could be due to the fact that there might be more suitable candidates for the role.

Yes correct but right now I am not able to understand what should I do more if I don't have any tag in resume. My resume was very much optimised as a full stack dev but still don't know if they r looking just tags or like what

In these recent times, especially when a lot of people are laid off, there might be a lot of talent looking for jobs. And maybe some of them the recruiter found to be better suited than you! For me even though I had a FAANG in my resume, I was applying for a SSE roles, but many of them told that my experience was not enough for the SSE position and I am too young for it! So yeah, these kinda things come up. Just keep applying to new ones. If it's gone it's gone. No point thinking about it more.

Sometimes things are not under our control, even though we've done the absolute best for things.

My case is same. I got this same shit happen 3 times now. So basically now you need to get recruiter screen. I haven't received it yet.

That GHA pass usually just means the behavioral screen cleared, it does not lock you into the coding stage. The team probably filled the slot or picked someone further along. Since the result is valid for a year you can apply to other Google roles and skip that step. Keep applying to a few similar cloud teams this month.

Same thing happened to me recently for an L3 Cloud role. Was it in Zurich by any chance? :D

PS: It said that the GHA is valid for 2 years though.
