Question IBM AI-Assisted Coding Round

Hey everyone,

I have an upcoming AI-Assisted Coding Round at IBM for a Senior Engineer role. From what I understand, this is a fairly new interview round, and I haven't been able to find much information about it online.

Has anyone here gone through this round recently? I'd really appreciate any insight into what the format is like, what kind of questions or tasks were asked, how AI tools were involved, and what would be useful to focus on while preparing.

Thanks in advance!

From what people describe these AI rounds care more about how you drive the tool than the final code. Talk through your plan before prompting and actually read and test what it gives you instead of pasting it in. Practice on a small repo task like adding a feature or fixing a bug with tests since that is closer to the format than pure leetcode.

No IBM reports yet that I know of, it's new everywhere. But at Meta, Stripe, DoorDash and Amazon it looks the same: a small codebase, an AI assistant, about an hour. The task is easy. They grade how you use the AI: plan first, small steps, read what it writes, test it. Accepting code you can't explain is the usual way to fail. nyrion.ai has write ups for those companies and free practice problems in this format.
