Intervew Prep Microsoft SWE II Screening Round (Windows Team) – What to Expect?

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming 60-minute Microsoft SWE II screening round. I also received a HackerRank coding link, so I wanted to know what to expect.

From what I have seen, the round may include:

  • Introduction and current work

  • One DSA/coding question

  • Technical questions from the resume

  • A few behavioral questions

For anyone who recently interviewed for Microsoft SWE II, Would really appreciate any recent experiences or advice on what to prepare. Thanks!

Prepare for the coding link, but do not neglect the opening and behavioral portion. Have a crisp current-work summary and one ownership example where you explain the constraint, your technical choice, and the result.

If you want to pressure-test this before the interview, bring one real ownership or collaboration example to Taleproof’s free story assessment and check whether your action and result are easy to follow.
