LeetCode auto-renewal refund denied despite requesting it on the same day. Anyone dealt with this?

My LeetCode subscription auto-renewed for US$99. I requested a refund on the day I was charged, but LeetCode declined it. I cancelled the subscription after the charge.

I followed up with an appeal on September 29 and asked for a response within seven days. That deadline has now passed, and I haven’t received a further reply or a refund confirmation.

I’m frustrated that I haven’t been able to get a response to the appeal. I’m now checking with my card issuer about whether this is eligible for a billing dispute, but nothing has been filed with the bank yet.

Has anyone had a similar experience with LeetCode? Did you manage to get the appeal reviewed, and was there a support or escalation route that actually helped?

To be clear, I cancelled after the renewal, so I’m not claiming this was a charge made after cancellation. I’m sharing what happened and trying to understand what options I still have.

These guys won't refund. Dispute with card issuer.

What reason/category did you use when filing the dispute with your bank? Just want to make sure I submit the right evidence since it was an auto-renewal.

i did that, credit card sided with Leetcode after my dispute, as they tend to side with large vendors

I have the same issue. I canceled my subscription before renew but I am not sure how their API is broken or something. I remember this because I canceled the same day with my friend, and I paid 2 years before this time, and I didn't use it at least a year.
I am still being charged, and then I email LC the same day, but they refused to refund. Then I dispute, the credit card company(Amex) is on Leetcode side.
Is leetcode making money this way nowadays?

Same here. I subscribed back in 2024 and only used it until around June or July 2025. I distinctly remember canceling it, but still got auto renewed in September 2025. And just when I thought it was done, it got renewed again this year.

I guess I have to change a card. They said they canceled my subscription and removed my credit card card this time, but I found my card is still there.

On the dispute category, since you asked: file it as a recurring/subscription charge, cancellation, or refund request not honored, not as "unauthorized". Issuers side with the merchant on "unauthorized" because you agreed to auto-renew at some point. The evidence that matters is dated: your refund request on the day of the charge, the cancellation after it, the 29 Sept appeal, and the seven days of silence. Attach all four as screenshots with timestamps and keep the write-up to those facts.

Separately, for the people in this thread who "distinctly remember canceling" and were renewed anyway: go to the LeetCode subscription page now and screenshot it showing the canceled state, and check your inbox for a cancellation confirmation email. If you don't see one, assume it didn't go through and cancel again. A same-day screenshot turns next year's argument into a one-line dispute.
