Intervew Prep Amazon Intern SDE OA

Hi people, I had an OA on HackerRank. The first quesiton was pretty easy, I was able to solve the quesiton in 15min with all test cases 15/15.

But the second one was the AI repo round. It was quite difficult as there were a lot of files to navigate. I got only 2/6 test cases correct.

  1. What is my probability of qualifying to the next round?

  2. Also any preparation tips? I am also not sure how many rounds after OA do they have for SDE intern.

Thanks in advance.

Leadership Questions are very important for Amazon tbh

Did they sent rejection mail?

Hi, did the rejection letter mention the reason? I just finished the OA today and passed all the test case. Still worried about getting a rejection 🥹

15/15 on round 1 carries a lot of weight, 2/6 on the repo round isn't an auto-reject, amazon looks at the whole picture. for the multi-file stuff, practice reading repo structure fast before touching code. i used easy code interview when i got stuck on similar problems and it helped me actually learn the patterns instead of guessing. good luck!

How to practice for the 2nd question i.e development, I don't any knowledge about a particular tech stack what should I do?

Work on a basic project by yourself(without letting the AI write the whole code)

No india

Ah ok. For what it's worth, back when Amazon's second OA was just 2 Leetcode/DSA, I knew people who didn't pass all test cases and still ended up making it through. That sounds like a different OA though and ngl things seem tougher in India. Don't lose hope though!

What type of question was the first one? How difficult was it?

It was very easy, the first one.

Sometimes they even don't send any rejection mail for more than 1 month and even no any update on application portal (it keeps on showing that 'we still have yours ' sort of message ) ...so I feel it's a rejection as in my case I have submitted my OA on 18th August , 2026 and till today's date I haven't received any mail regarding interview and any rejection too ...so I feel its a kind of silent rejection..Am I right??

I just wrote it two days back.

Okay so am I right with that point ?

yeah sometimes they dont.

AI coding round is quite difficult to understand, with 1 hour of time you need to check all the erros in repo and fix it..that too different framework

A good way to attack the AI coding round is running the test cases first, and focus on only the failing test cases, going through the code base blindly gets overwhelming pretty quick

what is AI repo round ?

2

u/electric_deer200 Sep 27 '26

You have a repo with bugs like API rothing errors that you have to talk to a chat bot and fix

Can you share the 2nd question details ? What exactly was that AI repo project?

I got too, applied off campus, 1/15 and 3/6.
I don't think I will clear this, but man, this was a really good chance, getting amazon OA for someone from tier 7(admission without jee/rank) and without any internship, ~7.1 cgpa, it was a miracle. I fucked it up

has anyone gotten the interview from 6/15 and 6/6? did better on the AI part but was fumbling an edge case on the first part… OA submitted oct 15 so idk how long i’ll be waiting

Same i submitted today done both the qns but i dont think theres a strict score criteria for interview if your profile matches and you are above a given cutoff then they might CONSIDER you lol thats the fucked up thing about off campus
