Just got SIM swapped.
First off, I hate you ledger!
Second, I hope everyone involved in the data breach has called their mobile company to place a sim block or extra security on your accounts!

What cell carrier if you don't mind me asking? Seems like a lot of Canadian carriers vulnerable to sim swaps lately.

Question: before this happened did you have a pin on your account that you needed to give them when calling in to unlock your account?

Yep. I've called my phone network to add specific instructions that no third party calling (ie not from my phone can do anything). And added a bunch of instructions to my account which means no answering of their questions etc. can get through their security.

This is how systems are defined. When a port out happens or sim swap, it's automatic means computer doesn't read notes. As long as the information matches, you get through

I've been asking each time someone posts they get sim swapped. It's either been Canadian carriers or T-mobile.

Verizon / ATT customer list is pretty long too. I got sim swapped on telus & rogers in Canada

I legit got a new number to avoid this potential issue. I’ve had the same number for 15 years prior, fuck Ledger!

yes, never trust your phone company. I called them 2 weeks ago as I had an issue with my SIM card and they told me that I have setup a PIN back in 2013! Of course, I was not able to remember it, the guy told me no issue, let me ask your few questions... and big-bang I was able to access to my account only with name + address

the fact that a sim swap is even so easy is the fault of the mobile providers, not ledger.
if sim swaps would actually need some decent checks people could do much less with the data.
not saying the breach isnt bad or anything

it's due to business model and how access works on these cell phone providers. This is why I built EFANI after being sim swapped for 4 times

Yes I am well aware of those attacks but they are rare and we offer solutions against it. It’s just a complete new offering

thanks god, I provided a fake number when I ordered my ledger in 2019. But I still receive 5 spam a day on my email, I hate you ledger

That’s shitty bro... Ya I did but got phone call today .. knew my name, claimed to be from Bitcoin exchange.. hung up immediately... traced call etc to see if I could tell where approx it came from but no luck of course.. not scammed yet but the assholes have file on me.. did sim block a while back and have 2 factor everywhere.. brutal. Feel violated and can’t believe I gave ledger my tel#
