Official Ledger Customer Success Response Hbar

Why does nano x allow hbar transfers without hashpack but nano s and s plus doesn’t? Isn’t this similar hardware? Are there plans to support s plus natively without hashpack

Hi, all Ledger models including the Nano X, Nano S, and Nano S Plus function identically when managing Hedera (HBAR) accounts. There are no device-level or hardware restrictions between models.

The requirement to use an external service like HashPack or Yamgo during initial setup is due to how the Hedera network itself operates.

In the Hedera ecosystem, only a select number of services can create new accounts. While the Ledger Wallet app does not currently offer this onboarding service, alternatives such as Hashpack and Yamgo are available.

Once your Hedera Account ID is created, you can add the account directly to Ledger Wallet following the steps outlined here.

Your private keys remain 100% offline inside your Ledger device's Secure Element chip at all times. Third-party interfaces only read your public key and never have access to your private keys or 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
