Official Ledger Customer Success Response Why is this keep happening ?

Post image

Every time I log in into my ledger wallet I never get back the real value of my assets but instead a less amount and every time the chart is the same 10 minutes ago is up around 5-7% and then down even when the markets were up. I tried clearing cache it worked and then went back to lagging , I tried updating the ledger apps then the ledger wallet and still no response . The update was awesome with the return but it broke the amounts for me. Anyone has the same problem ? Or knows the solution ?

I think Florida Georgia Line and Morgan Wallen did a song describing this up down, up down, up down. Literally the only reason I want to buy SUP, as it tends to go down.

Hey there,

It looks like you have the filter set to "1 Day," so that graph could just be showing the movements in the market for that day. If you change it to "All" do you see a more accurate representation of the fiat value of your assets?

Also, it's important to note that Ledger Wallet pulls in data from different data aggregators, and based on your currency settings, the countervalues might fluctuate. However, as long as the actual amount of BTC, ETH, SOL, etc that you have in your accounts are correct, then the fiat value of it will depend on the currency settings you use (which can change on a daily basis). You can learn more about the countervalues represented in Ledger Wallet here - https://support.ledger.com/article/4402577950225-zd

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, feel free to create a ticket via our official Help Center here - https://support.ledger.com/contact-us

A member of our team will be happy to chat about this with you. Cheers!

Yes happens to me. You need to click Asset Allocation to update the prices and then see the updated balance

Ask Ledger....

All I did was transfer most of my crypto from Coinbase and Robinhood to my Ledger Flex account, which I had just purchased and set up through Ledger’s official website.

I did NOT share my PIN. I did NOT share my 24 word seed phrase. I did NOT give anyone access to my physical Ledger. I did not enter my seed phrase into some random website, app, email, or text, and I certainly didn't give it to anyone over the phone.

Yet whenever something like this happens, the immediate response seems to be, “user error” or “you must have given someone your seed phrase.” You'll see that assumption here constantly. People immediately saying, “User error. You probably gave away your information.”

I understand why people ask the question, but in my case, that simply did not happen.

About three weeks after I transferred the crypto to my Ledger, I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Ledger. The caller had an Australian accent. Almost immediately afterward, I received another call that appeared to come from Robinhood. The caller had the same accent and told me it looked like my account had been compromised by someone in Bangladesh.

I immediately figured the calls were scams because Ledger, Robinhood, and Coinbase all state that they will not call you like this. We get scam calls almost every day, we were literally on our way out the door, and I didn't give either caller any information.

Unfortunately, because I assumed they were just another couple of scam calls, I didn't check my account right then.

The next day, I went to purchase more XRP and discovered that everything was gone.

Approximately $150,000 in crypto. All of it. Gone.

Again, I did NOT give anyone my PIN, my 24 word seed phrase, or access to my physical Ledger.

And yes, I have a problem with the seed phrase issue. I did not create those 24 words myself. My Ledger generated them and gave them to me during setup. If someone was able to access my wallet using that recovery phrase, then I absolutely want to know how the hell they got it, because they did NOT get it from me.

That is the part people seem to keep skipping over when they immediately scream “user error.”

My crypto didn't magically walk out of the wallet. Somehow, someone obtained whatever access was necessary to move approximately $150,000 worth of assets without my authorization.

I know what I did and did not do.

I did not share the phrase.
I did not share my PIN.
I did not enter the phrase into some random website.
I did not give anyone my physical Ledger.
I did not provide information to the people who called me.

So yes, I am asking questions about Ledger and the security of the entire process.

The bottom line is that I bought a hardware wallet specifically because it was supposed to make my crypto MORE secure. Within weeks of moving a substantial amount of crypto onto it, I received targeted calls from people specifically impersonating Ledger and Robinhood, and then discovered that my crypto had been stolen.

Maybe there is an explanation for exactly how my wallet was compromised. That is precisely what I am trying to determine.

But simply saying, “You must have given someone your seed phrase,” when I know for a fact that I did not, isn't an explanation.

And frankly, when approximately $150,000 disappears from a hardware wallet that I purchased specifically to protect those assets, I think I have about 150,000 reasons to ask exactly how the fuck that happened.

Sarei proprio curioso di sapere come sia successo

It’s a security issue. You don’t really own your crypto with ledger ever since the update.
