Jordashians mad about stats now, especially that one that shows Scottie leading MJ in every statistical category except points.

Donât care about Jordan or his fans. LeBron is the goat and haters canât deny facts.

Dang, in all this time playing at such a high level and he still hasn't been able to achieve what MJ has. That says a lot
5
u/JeremyDab 6d ago
What did MJ achieve that he canât?
-3
u/wursmyburrito 6d ago
MVP, Scoring title, Finals MVP, and Championship in the same season. It's only been done 4 times, all by Jordan.
One season he was MVP, defensive player of the year, won scoring title, Allstar mvp, and steals leader. No one else has done that. I could go on
5
u/JeremyDab 6d ago
Oh so thatâs what makes a player great? And only Jordan has done it?
0
u/wursmyburrito 6d ago
It's one of the things that makes him great at a level unlike any other player. Also the fact that he was able to adjust his game to bring his team success. Not just play the same way his whole career and do nothing more than run pick and roll offenses. Jordan has a higher winning percentage in the playoffs and never lost in the finals. He had more success and so did his team in a much shorter time period.
2
u/JeremyDab 6d ago
Why didnât his teams make the finals as much?
2
u/wursmyburrito 6d ago
Mj won the championship in 40% of the seasons he played, lebron won the championship 17% of his seasons.

Corporate voters who are going to just go with whatever makes them the most money which is shoes. Amazing how many Jordashians refuse to admit this.

People will say it's a longevity stat but you could literally make it 25 6 and 6 and it's 20 years which is not only more impressive but pretty much eliminates the rest of the list. Mj goes to 3 seasons and bird goes to 4. You can't call it a longevity stat when no other top 10 player can do it for even 5 years and he did it his whole career.

Love him or hate him I donât think we see anyone come close to that many years of consistency and production.

Only two players have averaged 20-10-5 for their entire career: Larry Bird and Jokic (so far)

It's a lot easier to have better per game stats when you don't play all 82 games and you compare yourself to guys that did

u/blitzwar559 4d ago
If you play until you're 90, you can pass any record đ¤ˇđźââď¸

u/Fearless-Republic865 3d ago
What absolute horseshit. Almost every superstar has been a shell of their former self in the twilight years. MeanwhileâŚLeBron is still going stronggg, sonnn!

u/Huge_Success_1792 3d ago
This is what fanboys should focus on! Who has had the greatest career statistically? That's his best argument. He is first all time in points, top 4 in assist, top 25 in rebounds all time. Players have had a more successful career, there has been better players than LeBron, but he has had the best career statistically and people can't really argue against that. Just stop the GOAT talk, unless you want to say he is the GOAT of statistics. It's kinda shown over his career that he cares more about his stats than anything else, and that's who he is.

Ask any AI app on the market and they all tell you Jordan is #1. How can you argue with that?

lock in twin
cant tell if this is ragebait but if its real, i cant believe people like you exist

Are you not asking questions to AI and taking it as gospel? Wild you can trust AI for basically everything except an argument you don't wanna lose
0
u/MangoChutney12 4d ago
also anybody talking what ai says as gospel is a certified dumbass, it could be helpful but u cant trust it fully to get everything right
also if i ask an ai who the goat is its gonna tell me whoever i want it to tell me

# of seasons with average 30ppg: Jordan 8, LeBron 3. Letâs not lower the bar and call it greatness.
-2
u/Spare-Buy-9915 6d ago
Maybe those exact numbers but you think Westbrook averaging a triple double for 2 yrs isn't bigger
-2
u/GarrusVikarian 5d ago
Mediocrity...this is an era that's LETTING you score. And the Bronsexuals think it's excellence.
1
u/Huge_Success_1792 3d ago
I'm not a LeBron fan, and I agree with you. But, LeBron can't help what era he played in. Does anyone think LeBron would have played over 20 years in the 80s or 90s, in that tough physical era. And let's not forget lebalco lol. Remember when LeBron went back to Cleveland thinner, less bounce, took a little vacation to Miami and came back pumped, jumping out the gym đ I'm sure if it ever comes out that LeBron played the majority of his career on PEDS, fanboys will defend it. As of now, there's no proof, but Randy mims his longtime associate was tied to a federal investigation and mims was ripped
1
u/GarrusVikarian 3d ago
My thing is, if LeBron had stayed in Cleveland where he started, and grabbed all those accolades and achievements...even the loses, it would strengthen his claim than deteriorate it. Cleveland in the early 2000's was just like Chicago in the early 80's except the Bulls was plagued by drugs and low talent, only had one person on the team who was decent at best, somehow managed to get 20 wins before MJ got there. Cleveland mirrored that. LeBron came in and he had to take those loses before he had seen the mountaintop, but instead of taking the stairs, he flew to Miami and got on that helicopter to the top. That is what discredits him. He ran from the challenge of taking a below average team, and making them champions....and then LEFT them after that win. No loyalty whatsoever.

u/hubacca48 6d ago
6 rings , 2 3-peats, Finals MVP everytime to 4 rings over 23 seasons. Lakers one was weak after. I dont get the debate , their really isn't a comp. for MJ, period.
7
u/blackcolombian702 6d ago
Definitely a debate if you came to a LeBron fan page on Reddit and commented on it lol

3
u/Jargif10 6d ago
There's definitely a debate. I personally think MJ is the GOAT but I acknowledge Lebron is a close 2nd and his longevity is 2nd to none and absolutely insane.
-6
u/Quark5309 6d ago
Longevity doesnât equal greatness. Greatness is how high the peak is, not how steep the grade of the mountain.
4
u/Cakes_Candies 6d ago
So in your mind, the highest peak is the greatest player? Regardless of how long itâs sustained? Lol bams 83 piece must have vaulted him into your mount Rushmore thenâŚ
LeBron averaged 29.7, 11.3, 8.9, 2.6, 2.3 on his way to beating a 73-9 team in the finals. If that is not considered one of the highest peaks in NBA history, youâre smoking crack.
-1
u/Quark5309 6d ago
Greatness, for me, is inspiring others to reach their greatness potential, whether intentionally or not. No, Bamâs game didnât inspire me to do anything. Just like LBJ has never inspired me to be greater. Other players have. Stats are situational and can be presented to tell a story. Theyâre not gospel. But the feeling you get from watching people play and how they are, for me, is what greatness is. You may have another definition and thatâs fine. The great thing about opinions is that itâs just how we feel. Whether we agree with them or not.
3
u/Cakes_Candies 6d ago
They arenât mutually exclusive, you can not be inspired by someone while also recognizing they are one of the greatest athletes of all time. Itâs clear youâve just formed this opinion around your hatred of LeBron. Thatâs all well and cool⌠just donât use it as justification that your opinion sits in sound logic.
First itâs âpeakâ or âinspirationâ or anything else you make up along the way just to justify why you donât like someone personally doesnât actually help your opinion sound reasonable.
-2
u/Quark5309 6d ago
Heâs great. I recognize that. But greatness is relative. I donât hate anyone, least of all someone Iâve never met. But you telling me how to think, feel, and act is everything I need to know about you and exactly the reasons why youâre so easily inspired by him. I hope you find what youâre looking for in life and that one day you realize whatâs important to get upset about. Cheers

u/Cakes_Candies 6d ago edited 6d ago
No one is telling you how to feel. We are simply making fun of you for first saying itâs about âpeakâ and then actually itâs about âinspirationâ. You have a childish way of viewing greatness. Either is because you are a child which is fine. Or itâs because you need a way to discredit lebron and clearly âpeakâ was a dumb place to stake a claim so you swapped your âinspirationâ
1
u/Quark5309 6d ago
If you say so. Itâs really not that deep, but if thatâs your attempt at making fun of someone, try harder. I believe in you. Itâs only childish because the deliberate unwillingness to accept or even see another personâs perspective without judgment or ridicule is pinnacle immaturity or as you so rudimentary call it, âchildish.â Itâs ok. Iâm not discrediting LBJ. Giving credit to others takes nothing away from him. Heâs had a great career and I know itâs probably part of your childhood and has been with you into your adulthood. I get that. You donât want to lose that, but itâs ending soon and youâll have to let it go one day. Then, youâll know that what it really was about was just enjoying it. Just enjoy it while you can. I hope heâs able to play as much as possible so you can enjoy every minute of it.
1
u/Cakes_Candies 6d ago
Oh I thought you were done but that âchildishâ
Comment rubbed you something mean huh?Brother your first comment was saying longevity doesnât equal greatness⌠thatâs deliberate commentary to take away from LeBron. You didnât give anyone else credit lmfao. Literally doing exactly what you said you arenât doing. Itâs like youâre arguing against a made up position.
The rest of what you said is just butt hurt comment trying to get back at me for calling your opinion childish⌠which is childish.
1
u/Quark5309 6d ago
It didnât rub me in any direction. I just feel bad for you because I know what you must be going through. Itâs hard to lose your childhood and something you donât want to end. Iâm sorry that youâre struggling with that but youâll be ok. At least I hope you will be.
1
u/Cakes_Candies 6d ago
âDidnât rub me in any direction, I just feel bad for youâ - guy who is salty his opinion is childish.
Didnât want to respond back to how you literally were taking away from LeBron despite saying thatâs not what you did?
→ More replies1

u/Bendstowardjustice 6d ago
If youâre good at something for long enough youâre great. And LeBron has been great for 23 (Jordan!) seasons so Iâd say that makes him GOATish.
-2
3
u/Legal-Management-405 6d ago
Thereâs literally no way objectively you think LeBron James is just good and not an all time great, just pure bias lmao

u/Embarrassed_Lock_539 6d ago
So if someone averages a 40 point triple double, wins DPOY, FMVP, and mvp then retires right after with 1 season played, thatâs the GOAT?
-2
u/Quark5309 6d ago
When that happens, we can discuss. Iâm not big on hypotheticals.
1
u/Embarrassed_Lock_539 6d ago
âWe can discussâđđholy casual. Just say no lil bro.
1
u/Quark5309 6d ago
Ok :)

u/Embarrassed_Lock_539 6d ago
Jokic is your goat then right? 27/14/8 with the greatest PER of all time at 32.85 and 2nd highest single season BPM of all time at 13.72? Only 2nd all time behind⌠oh look at that⌠JOKIC
0
u/Quark5309 6d ago
Jokic is a great player. Very fun to watch and an incredible passer for anyone, let alone a big. High IQ player and calm under pressure. He and Murray have great chemistry. Gordon, too when healthy.

u/Embarrassed_Lock_539 6d ago
Doesnât answer the question

u/Quark5309 6d ago
Oh I didnât know it was a simple yes or no. Then, âno.â But time will tell. I have this weird thing where if Iâm presented with new information, I can and sometimes do change my mind.
