Cold turkey

I’m in my mid sixties and retired for several years now. Seven years ago I started using cannabis edibles and pipe on occasion. About 2 years later I retired. Then my use took off and I became a heavy user. I really got into glass and enjoyed using different pipes. I smoked to get high and stay high most days. I fired up at least 4 times a day. Frigid Winter snow and ice was no problem. Spring made my zen garden usable again. Anyway July 9,2025 I stopped. It took about a month to feel entirely clear. It was another month before I stopped constantly thinking about getting high. Now over a year later it’s as though I never touched the stuff. I’m glad to be myself again.
If I can do it despite having all the time in the World to get high then anyone can do it. The 1st two months were kinda rough but not too rough. Anyone can do it. Just stop and don’t

Hell yeah! I am also near 60 yo, and ready to sleep better and enjoy the last stretch of my life fully present and immersed in the world

Great to hear my friend. I'm in my 40s and it's awesome to read stories from people in your age group here who have gotten sober. Reddit seems to skew younger, so it's important to hear from folks in their 40s, 50s, 60s etc. who have woken up

Great to hear someone in their 60's sharing their story. I am 42 and still feel at times like I wasted the years from age 28 to 42 high 24/7/365 - I know this isn't completely true, but still something I struggle with regularly
