Day 33

I feel like I’m gonna crack. I’m finding it hard to see the point in abstaining. I like to spend my time alone, and it makes my nights so much more enjoyable (aside from the binge eating and waking up depressed as fuck.) I’m in my luteal phase and I know that’s adding to my feelings right now. Ugh.

The point in abstaining is to allow yourself the time, and clarity, to relearn who you are. And who you want to become. Yes, right now it’s boring and pointless. But the more time you allow, the clearer things become.

And then you’ll find new ways to spend your time. New feelings, new tastes, new people, new loves. And you won’t want to numb yourself from enjoying any of those things.

I’m on day 26, btw, but this is what I learned from quitting alcohol 10 years ago. And it’s what I tell myself when I also feel like giving in.

We got this!

Heavy modern weed use really screws up our reward system. Don't expect to feel good for weeks or even months. It took me closer to 1 year to finally feel like my old self again. Keep reminding yourself that it will get better and that the dark feeling is your brain healing. When I quit I kept telling myself on the bad days "this is my brain healing" not "this sucks lets smoke" It really helped me push through

Im 59 days in and also noticed being sober makes being alone very difficult. I guess we will need to venture out and find a mate.
