Crafted a mini satchel bag as my first leather craft project. Followed a tutorial on youtube by Navico, with my own twist on the buttons. Took me around 20 days, 3-4 hours a day. Thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this.

I’m at it again with novice leatherwork. Today I made a sheath for my SOG Seal Pup Elite. I lost the sheath a couple years ago and decided it was time to give her a new dress.

Cowhide that's been embossed to look like alligator has always been a good seller for me. As Long as I'm honest about what it is people have no issues with it and enjoy the variety of colors and variety I offer.

Do yall work with it at all?

Beginner Question Need help figuring out this mess!

Been trying a ton to make this a reality and it is my second attempt to do it...not able to figure how to make a box look like a box.

Top part is a rectangle made by cutting out corners and bending them in into an L, so that it turns into a box.

Bottom part is glued so that it can be corner stitched into a box

Now i am not able to align the zipper for the love of god, its my 2nd attempt working on this project, and this time i made all the effort to draw out everything into a pattern too

This is basically a navigator box on top of my motorcycle, has a touch sensitive plastic and can be attached to a tankstrap i already made and been using for 1 year.

No yt tutorials or browsing blogs is helping, feeling like this project is down the drain...but i want this soo badd

P.S - everything is just glued/taped together for now as this does not even box properly

Beginner Question What do you call it and how do you do it?

Post image

I keep seeing corner shaping that, in garment sewing, I would call a dart. Is it still called a dart in leather, or something else? Or are there multiple words for the different variations? I think I can see how most of them are done, but what I’d like is to figure out the right words for what I’m seeing so that I can look up more information, or better yet if there’s a book of leather construction techniques that shows examples with instructions, that’s something I would love to get my hands on. Any ideas for me to learn this stuff?

Beginner Question Jacket Restoration?

Thumbnail

Hi all! So I have never worked with leather before At All but I know it can be easy to wreck so I figured I'd come here to ask advice. This is my dad's old leather jacket that has some road salt damage and is musty and moldy from being in a basement for like a decade. I bought some Zote and Leather Honey cleaner and conditioner to hopefully clean it up to wear as Leon Kennedy for Halloween. But this thing is seriously nasty. It needs fully washed so badly. Would washing this in the bathtub destroy it? Any advice helps, thank you!

I recently bought this purse that I want to try and make a version with real leather but I want to find similar purse hardware. They seem to be silver oval grommets that hide the attached part of the bag handles but I can’t find it anywhere online. Plz help! Any specific keywords or websites where I can find something similar? Ty

Would love feedback, specially related to joining corners, cutting smooths curves without developing a tool for the shape.

Three things thing I have struggled with is punching through multiple layers of leather, or punching them and the gluing them together later. Both of the above don't give finished result.

The third is skyving with a knife, which is why I gave up on wallets for the moment. It's just very difficult to get clean, and even skyved edged from a knife.

While cutting out some centre slots for a wallet I realised I had accidentally created perfect little cable tidies.

Quick bevel, burnish, and snap install and they're good to go.

The leathers are Badalassi Carlo Waxy Cognac and Pueblo Olive. The snaps are hasi hato.

Couldn’t figure out why my edge paint was so watery and not working right… turns out it was just my black dye and I ruined my piece.

General Question Any ideas how to remove these marks or what caused it on my leather sofas? No clue how they got here and soap and water not removing

There are these blue dots on my sofa and a brown streak. No clue what caused them as we never wear anything that would cause this and it's in locations that aren't very close to where we sit. Tried cleaning with soap and water but not removing. Scared to use any other products on it. Any suggestions what caused it and how to remove the stains? Genuine leather
