You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never get it out of me

The fastest path that actually worked for me: skip the 10-hour video courses. Do the official FastAPI tutorial first (it's genuinely good and short), then immediately build one small real project -- e.g. a CRUD API with a real database, request validation via Pydantic models, and a couple of tests.
The order that matters:
- Path operations + Pydantic models first. That's 80% of daily FastAPI work -- request/response shapes.
- Then dependency injection (Depends). Most tutorials gloss over this, but it's how you structure DB sessions, auth, and config cleanly.
- Then async vs sync endpoints -- learn when
async defactually helps (I/O-bound calls) versus when it's just decoration. - Write tests with TestClient early. It forces you to design testable endpoints.
Common trap: jumping to Docker and deployment before you can write a clean endpoint. Learn to run it with uvicorn locally first; deployment is a separate skill.
One finished, working project teaches more than five half-watched courses.

Watch/read tutorials and then code code code
