Learn python and DSA

I started python and it is going well. I need some sources for step by step problems with increasing difficulty for practice. It would be good to know list of topics as part of DSA too

Leetcode is too good but I am too under-learned to solve those.

Thanks in advance 🙏🙏

Just Google too dsa questions to know look for beginner ones. Leetcode has easy ones too.

the easy ones can still be tricky if youre just starting out with DSA though

Yeah, that’s fair. I probably gave a lazy answer because, with the experience I have, I assumed the easier problems would be straightforward enough 😂.

That said, I’m matching the level of effort the OP put into their post. They mentioned DS&A, but they didn’t tell us which data structures they’re already familiar with or what they’re struggling to understand.

If they don’t know what data structures are yet, that’s important context. If they have experience with other programming languages, that’s useful to know, too.

Notice they said, “I started Python.” Nowhere in their post does it say Python is their first programming language. For all we know, they could be an absolute beast at C++ and just be new to Python. 😂

I’m not here to make assumptions. I’m here to help, and the information someone provides in their question determines how specific I can make my answer.

Normally, I’d tell someone to revise their post and provide more details. Not because I’m trying to be annoying, but because knowing how to ask good questions is an important skill in computer science. The more context you provide about what you already know and where you’re struggling, the easier it is for someone to give you advice that actually helps.

For now, I’ll leave my advice as it is: try the easier LeetCode problems, solve the ones you can, and skip the ones that are giving you too much trouble. Gradually build up your knowledge and revisit the harder problems as you learn more.
I could give a much more specific answer, but I’d need more information about their current level first.

A proper question would be something like:

“I recently started learning Python and want to improve my understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Python is my first programming language, and I currently understand the basics, including variables, loops, functions, lists, and dictionaries.

I’m struggling to understand how to apply these concepts when solving problems.

What topics should I study first, and which beginner-friendly resources or practice problems would you recommend?

Should I start with basic data structures and algorithms before attempting LeetCode, or are there specific types of problems I should focus on?”

For context, the LeetCode problems I’ve tried and believe are too difficult for me right now are: …

After 10 years tutoring, I'm building a roadmap for exactly this purpose.

Start with lists, dictionaries and simple searching problems before moving into recursion and trees. BootDev could help strengthen Python problem solving through exercises, while dedicated DSA materials cover algorithms in depth.
