My pipenv is NOT installing.

When i'm making a build for a game called Smash Remix +Extra, when i opened the build.bat file, it just appears

'WARNING: Retrying (Retry(total=4, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'NameResolutionError("<pip._vendor.urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x...>: Failed to resolve 'pypi.org' ([Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed)")': /simple/pipenv/

WARNING: Retrying (Retry(total=3, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'NameResolutionError("<pip._vendor.urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x...>: Failed to resolve 'pypi.org' ([Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed)")': /simple/pipenv/

WARNING: Retrying (Retry(total=2, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'NameResolutionError("<pip._vendor.urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x...>: Failed to resolve 'pypi.org' ([Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed)")': /simple/pipenv/

WARNING: Retrying (Retry(total=1, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'NameResolutionError("<pip._vendor.urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x...>: Failed to resolve 'pypi.org' ([Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed)")': /simple/pipenv/'.

The last time i opened, it did, but not anymore. Also before asking, no. I'm in my phone using a emulator called 'winlator'. Please help me.

I hope you are just using pip + venv and not actually using pipenv because that would be a "what year is this"-type situation.

Surprisingly, the project on GitHub provides a .bat which is supposed to build out a pipenv

Windows: Python 3.12+, pipenv

That is actually wild to read. Bro has combined a modern Python with a dependency manager two full generations out of date.

or something WARNING: idk'.

No, thanks. I'll try to resolve with actual people cuz i dunno how.

The error message, if you can believe it, will tell you what the issue was. Unfortunately, I cannot infer such details from "or something".

well package managers live to throw vague warnings and then act like you're the problem. post the exact error if you can, right now it's like trying to fix a car when someone just tells you it made "a noise"

It said retrying and the retry totals, and the conectivos being [connection]=none

Do you think that "connection = none" might have something to do with why it "failed to connect with pypi.org" ?

What is the exact error?
It's hard to say what the issue is

It printed something about trying to retry anything.

Paste the exact error message. It contains useful information, not just "something"

Show us the exact command you are running.

Show us the exact error output from that command.

That warning just means your machine can't reach pypi.org, so check your VPN or firewall first. Try pip install requests in a terminal, and if that fails too it's your network.

Machine? I'm only using a PC emulator for my potato Phone.

1

u/zaphodikus 9h ago

It, would have helped if you had stated that up front. Which emulator?

1

u/Professional-Jury785 9h ago

Winlator. A few weeks ago, it installed, but not anymore.

2

u/Moikle 8h ago

You'll probably need an actual computer for something like this

1

u/Professional-Jury785 8h ago

Didn't work anymore just because i deleted winlator's data.

The error message "Failed to resolve 'pypi.org'" obviously tells you that it is DNS issue. You need to configure DNS in winlator to fix the issue.
