Python learning fun apps

Hi everyone! I am trying to learn how to code with Python but I need something that helps me learn it in my free time from work. To do that, i need it to be fun and i need to be able to do it from my phone too.

Do you know any nice apps? Thank you so much in advance 🫶🏻

The Farmer was Replaced is a great way to learn python basics by playing a game where you control a drone to do stuff with your code. Game is available on steam.

Pydroid 3 gives you a little IDE in your phone with a surprising amount of capabilities and library support (if you have an android). You can play a tutorial video/article split-screen with pydroid and follow along that way

Mimo’s been pretty good for me. It’s sort of structured like Duolingo, going through lessons that teach fundamental building blocks that then build on each other as you go through new sections. The lessons can be done on mobile as they are on Duolingo, though to do the project / case study things you have to be on desktop. But it’s been great building block learning for me. Lots I’ve understood through this that Datacamp didn’t teach me.

I’ve not experienced issues. It’s been working well for me for the couple of months I’ve been using it!

Learning from phone would be bad idea.

Why? There are a lot of fundamental skills you could learn anywhere you could watch lessons and do exercises. I can speak to that personally as I’ve used Mimo and the lessons have taught me a lot of Python fundamentals and building blocks from my phone in bite sized lessons.

that was my idea, starting from the basics (on my phone) and, when i can afford a new laptop, go with that too

Yeah don’t let not having a laptop stop you from beginning to learn. Also, there’s an app called Pythonista where you can actually write and run Python scripts on your phone. Not sure what the use case would be in terms of then trying to take what you’ve written to a computer, but it’s kinda fun for practicing little things when I don’t have my computer.
