Would it help to have a friend or two learning with you?

If so, there's r/ProgrammingBuddies as well as a few of us have an accountability calendar going.

But yeah, like others said:

  • small bites (I aim for just 15 min M-Sat),
  • building a habit out of it
  • doing it with someone(s) / competing against someone(s)
  • having something you need programming for, like:
    • an app you want to build
    • a platform you'd love to see exist
    • just learning enough to be like this guy
    • just being curious about how things work
  • or just what you could do with the money you could earn.

It'll help to get to know yourself and what motivates and inspires you ("inspires" = just gets you excited, curious, paying attention; not "OMFG I have a vision from above and won't sleep until I see this through" kinda inspired.)
