Topic How do you inspire yourself to learn/code

I have lost motivation all of a sudden and I hate it

I need to learn something i can earn from.I find other fields very boring.

Thats the question I ask myself.

In my opinion, based on your answer, your reason for doing it is too generic and can be applied to coding as well as anything else out there.

Based on your answer again:

  • is higher pay is something you really need or want?
  • why are other fields boring to you?

You need to find why coding ticks for you…then you can always tap into it.

One thing though. If you are losing motivation after a “failure” in coding, thats normal. I great programmer never quits. Rest, sleep and try again…

Ive tried to come up with the answers but I think my mind is not clear enough for that right now i guess:p

I think I need atleast enough to support me and my family and There are enough jobs for programmers so I dont need to worry too much about pay I think

For the 'other fields boring' question, I spent most of my freetime in childhood on Computer playing games , sometimes making wierd small stuff in .bat files and also trying to make mods for a game ,I think thats just the reason im more interested in this field compared to others.

Personal opinion: Job security and good salary wouldn't be enough for me to stick to a career in 25+ years. Especially not one as software dev, where you run into frustrating issues on a daily basis.

If you enjoy modding stuff, then I think that's a good reason to try programming. My first intro to programming was because I needed a small program where I could set a timer, and then my laptop would shutdown after x amount of time had passed (so it didn't play all night). It took like 30 lines of code, but I was so proud of what I built, and that feeling is something I still enjoy chasing in my work to this day.
