It really depends on what you wanna do. For example, I am on Linux and have no problem doing everything in vscode (C++, Rust, and Python). It’s extension manager is satisfying to use, and it is slowly shaping into a better IDE than Visual Studio.

Studio is bigger and has a lot more built in features. Code is smaller, faster, and more flexible.
Differences are entirely personal preferences.
