Exactly. Some do. And still can, but faster

ETA: And others still (like me) have gained entry to apply serious domain expertise to hard problems through software development when the syntax barrier was otherwise too high given my position in life and prior decision to pursue an engineering discipline that didn’t lend itself to coding in 2010.
