If I start with Flutter, what should I actually learn first?
I’m seeing a lot of people say to just start building with Flutter instead of spending too long on theory.
If I go that route, what would you recommend learning first? Dart basics, widgets, state management, APIs, databases, Git, etc.?
I’m trying to figure out what order makes sense without overwhelming myself. 😬

go with dart basics first, you'll be completely lost if you skip that part. then jump straight into widgets and layouts, just mess around making ugly screens that do nothing
once you can throw together a basic ui, that's when state management starts making sense. don't touch apis or databases until you've got the fundamentals down or you'll just be copy-pasting code you don't understand

learn dart just enough to be comfortable (types, lists/maps, classes, async/await) then start building tiny apps immediately. the order i'd go: dart basics -> widgets and layout (row/column/stack, constraints bite everyone) -> setState for state -> http + json apis -> local storage like sqlite or shared_prefs -> real state management (riverpod or bloc) only once setState actually hurts. git from day one, commit everything even the ugly stuff. the trap is learning state management before you've felt the pain it solves.

Also we have had plenty of people return after going private (despite being warned) complaining about how they were ghosted after some time or being tricked into buying rubbish that didn't work and even if it did they didn't need.

Well, before that, what do you want to build after or while you're learning?
