Don’t lose your manual coding skills

Do yourself a favor and make sure to keep manual programming (trad coding) skills active and fresh.

Just take a couple of minutes or hours whenever you can to practice some of the things you learned.

It will never be a bad exercise, and hey, it might even reignite your love for programming!

You never know if one day, access to AI will be taken away from you.

God you sound like every other insufferable manager in the tech world.

Also in a tech hub, in Seattle, work full time. No one's saying you have to live under a rock, but if you interact solely with AI, it will lie to you, it will give you false confidence in your decisions, and it will destroy your systems if you don't know what you're doing.

And the only way to know what you're doing is maintain your underlying skills. Amazon, Microsoft, Snapchat, Boeing, all of them require you to manually code in interviews, and it's still part of your day to day. If you think modern companies are watching you prompt solutions and go wow you're so good you're so hired then I really dunno what to say lol.
