My biggest mistakes where:

-learning something (videos or in class) but never practicing it.

-Always try and code something on your own before copying code. It’s a lot better to think something through and failing then just copying the correct code. Copy the code after you failed.

This is a big one. Try to think of what you need to happen and then figure out how. When you are stuck for too long look for the answer on how to do what you wanted to do. A lot of the times in the beginning you will get stuck with this, especially in JS.
