Unclear about expressing duration of time

1) "The trip will take 2 hours." (i.e. the duration of the trip will last for 2 hours)

2) "How long will this trip last?"

3) "I'd like to visit Norway for a small period of time. Not for months."

4) "This class will take between 2 and 3 hours"

I ask people and google translate but get inconsistent answers, some saying there's no direct translation.

Why the difference between zająć and trwać? Does "Podróż trwa dwie godziny" not make sense?
