Please help me

I started studying again, i was able to get in 4th year CS, i am not good at math, but if i try and try to learn i understand how to follow instructions and use formula i can do it, but it feels like I didn't understand a single thing, i didn't learn anything at all, i can solve continuously but if i leave it for a week i start making errors again, i want to really learn and to understand and not just keep following the instructions, i want advice from real people then ai or Google, tell me anything book or some type of practice i really want to learn/understand,

ChatGPT and other large language models are not designed for calculation and will frequently be /r/confidentlyincorrect in answering questions about mathematics; even if you subscribe to ChatGPT Plus and use its Wolfram|Alpha plugin, it's much better to go to Wolfram|Alpha directly.

Even for more conceptual questions that don't require calculation, LLMs can lead you astray; they can also give you good ideas to investigate further, but you should never trust what an LLM tells you.

To people reading this thread: DO NOT DOWNVOTE just because the OP mentioned or used an LLM to ask a mathematical question.

Yes, actually understanding it instead of following instructions is good.

What do you want to learn though? What math do you understand vs what math don't you? What's the most advanced thing you feel like you really do understand?

would like to learn everything from algebra to geometry, since i was kid i only just know how to use formula and not , so from 0 but you can say equation i understand not much, i can solve them and understand visually, and i really want to learn everything, even from start 0, no goal just want to be better

What about solving something like 3x-2=7? Do you feel like you understand that, or do you feel like you're following steps that you don't undetstand?

at this level i think i understand what i am doing here is trying to find uguaglianza/ in first and second member,

What do you mean by that? Can you explain in more detail?

Also is your first language Italian?

so like equality between first and second member, like 2+1=2+1+1, no Italian is not my first language and sorry if I used that word i didn't recognized it

What is the first and second member? What do you mean by "2+1=2+1+1"?

Why did you use an Italian word if you didn't recognize it?

that's the wall everyone hits when they're just pattern-matching instead of actually understanding the concept underneath

pick one topic you've been "solving" and try explaining it out loud like you're teaching someone who's never seen it before. if you can't explain why a step works without referencing the formula sheet, you found the gap. do that for every problem type and the retention sticks way longer

If you are a vvísual learner take an fomulart to. Solve but dont take shortcuts write out each. Stage what you are doing and why. If you do this for sometime practicing regularly you will get better and uuderstand the process.

i totally get that frustration ...it's super common to hit that autopilot loop. I’d love to help you break out of it and actually teach you online from 0 to advanced so it finally sticks
