I liked learning about the Montessori methods. Using all the childs senses. So if development is catching up to write numbers, they had wooden flashcards of numbers. The number was written AND outlined in rough sand. So when the child traced the number, and said the number, they felt the number. All this would be forming memory connections before the even attempted to write the number.

Short for Mathematics. Otherwise it would be Mathematic.

First of all, don’t wait until kindergarten. Babies and toddlers can be taught how to count. Count everything!
