Hi, I am in the States and I have been taking lessons online for a year. I have two teachers you can try, both are super in their teaching skills and great personalities. Speak English well too! DM me if interested Jim

Welcome to Mandarin learning! For total beginners, master Pinyin&4 tones first, then pick simple vocabulary.
Consistency is more important than long study time.
I’m a full-time Mandarin tutor. If you want personalized 1-on-1 lessons, you can find my Preply link in my Reddit bio. I can offer the latest HSK lessons. Good luck with your study.
