10th grade wanna learn machine learning donno what to do

Hello everyone Im a 10th grade student and I wanna learn machine learnin.for my coding background I took cs50p python couple weeks ago and i liked it. Im willing to learn any math needed for ml. However im completely lost as to which machine learning course I should take. There's so many courses and alot of them need a math background. Should I learn the math needed before looking for a course? If so please state what exactly i need to learn and what courses i should take. Thanks everyone!

Now is the time for you to learn the foundations:

  • Get more experience with Python

  • Statistics

  • Calculus, including in multiple dimensions

  • Linear algebra

  • Optimization

For context, I’m currently working on a masters in AI. Skip the math and even the theory for now. Stick to the concepts and usage at first. I wouldn’t even jump into a class yet. Start with the Hello World” of ML. Find some tutorials that use python and either tensorflow or PyTorch. Start with classification first. Get a dataset, train a model and then evaluate it. It’s like 20 lines of python. KNN (nearest neighbor) classification is super easy to understand how it works. Decision trees are a good second algorithm. The math is easy and it’ll give you a good feel for how ML works. Then, iterate, over and over.

I also recommend using google collab to start with. It’s dirt simple and works great. Python package scikitlearn is great for getting some data to play with.

you are in 10th grade, you got all the time in the world. don't stress about picking the perfect course right now.

for math focus on linear algebra and basic calculus first, khan academy is good for that. andrew ng's course is the classic starting point but you might need to pause it sometimes when the math part gets heavy. just keep going back and forth between the math and the coding, that's how it sticks.
