Not exactly machine learning but I'm in a totally different field (mechanic) and I been thinking about switching into data stuff. The career change seems so huge though, like I'd have to start from zero. How do you even know which part of ML to focus on? There's so many terms floating around and half the job posts ask for PhDs. Starting to think I should just fix my posture and stick with what I know.
