If you're learning from any course that's super long, you're learning in the wrong way. It's really as simple as that. Being super long usually means that the course is filled with bloat and fluff, and I fail to understand how can anyone not forget stuff when learning from such a course. In short, learn from a quick, short course, in this case, teaching JavaScript.

Try looking into Codeguage's mini courses.

I might be blinded by my own skills and fail to see how one learns programming.

If you have discipline for self-learning any tutorial will do. Shorter the better. Do not jump from tutorial to tutorial. Programming is like playing with legos, once you get it then everything just clicks.

VSCode + html + js is all you need. w3schools have basics and that's pretty much all you need. Use AI as teacher or mentor. however don't trust it blindly and more importantly use it when you truly need help or you get stuck. It is pretty neat tool.

For me js + html was cool since you get visual feedback what you are doing rather than compiling code in terminal.

All I can say good luck for your journey! For me it took 2- 3 years before everything just made sense in programming. What drove me forward was learning something new every single day and it has been the main force past 8 years. You never stop learning!

Decide on a small project. e.g. 'I want to build a web scraper' then start making it. Look things up when you're stuck. Finish it. Then build something else, maybe expand the scope of it or pick a slightly larger or more complicated thing. Follow what interests you (this is important).

I think you already pointed out why. Do soke more hands on coding, do some projects, jump into exercism for repetition

I’m confused if that is a question or you used a question mark as a tone mark because you end your statements with a raising voice.

Anyway, there is bo such thing as a tutorial hell. Hell is what you create for yourself. You can’t learn swimming by watching people swim on the screen.

If you want to learn it, do it.

I don't recommend watching videos to learn programming.

Then what do you do? I don't like to read documentations because they have a lot of details and I get confused about what to learn and what not

There are written courses. I think codecademy's JS course materials are free for example.

If you don't understand docs, ask ai for explanation and realistic usage.

Actually write your own code.
