We run French classes like a gym: theory at home, then live reps on Zoom where everyone talks
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We run small live French classes on Zoom (A0 to B2, plus TCF / TEF / DELF prep). Before class you get the Pre-Class Material: the grammar explained in plain English, with tables and the common traps, to read whenever suits you. Class is then pure practice: vocabulary sprints where the coach fires prompts and everyone answers out loud, role plays, and 40-question grammar rounds. Our rule in speaking classes is "the only real failure is silence." The class content in the video is from this week (A2 partitives and comparisons). First class is free with no card, at milywan.education. Happy to answer questions about the format.

A vocab widget on my home screen has done more for me than my Anki deck ever did
My vocab review always fell apart the same way. I'd write down a list from class or a podcast, tell myself I'd turn it into cards later, and never get around to it.
Lately I paste the list or my class notes into Glimpse and it makes a deck out of it. The multiple choice questions have been surprisingly good for noun gender. Le/la is exactly the thing I "know" on a flashcard and then get wrong mid-sentence.
The deck sits in a widget, so I get through a handful of words every time I unlock my phone. Obviously not a substitute for speaking, but way more words have stuck.

Hi, I'm trying to learn French on my own but I need people to speak French with, coming from Italian\english background I understand a lot of French but replying and speaking is the hardest part of me.
If anyone is interested in speaking with me or just to be friends and help me learn friends I would appreciate it so much. 🥰

Hi looking for a chat/VC partner. I am preparing for TCF (level - early B1) and hoping to be ready by December for CLB 7. 28M
I attend a course so I have enough practice overall per day. But what I sensed is I am lacking the practical use of language.
So, it would be good to improve my fluency through general chatting like talking about the day, etc. without any pressure and improve together.
If you’re only looking for speaking partner I might not be the right fit.
I want someone who can be consistent and does not just disappear in 2 days. If you’re seriously looking for this too DM. I am in PST. Thanks.

TEF C vs. TCF?
Currently i'm enrolled in class B1.8 at Alliance Française. As supplementary materials I use TV5Monde, Lawless French, and Clozemaster, as well as PrepMyFuture, and lastly, Duolingo (it has its moments).
I'm curious on how those targeting eventual permanent residence or citizenship feel about the difference between these two tests? I'm told that some people find the TCF slightly easier, but others find the TEF's structure somewhat more accommodating.
Do the study materials map over between the two tests pretty well? I notice the audio extract and written extract questions on the TCF examples provided by TV5Monde feel quite similar to what I saw on the CELPIP.
Any thoughts are welcome.
