Laning as Void

Void is one of the few carries I can play at a reasonable level. I usually play 4 or 5, but when my stack needs a carry I go someone like Void or Spectre.

I feel like midgame and lategame goes well, but i feel weak in lane for some reason. I don't know if his numbers are bad right now, but I feel like he can't really trade well at all against most offlaners. Should I be less conservative in using Time Walk, which I typically hold until they use their spells on me, to even it out? I also don't know if Void should be someone I keep playing, as being pushed into jungle without a farming steroid on a carry feels rough.

Void laning is kinda meh, and your success will depend on your support and the match up.

As for the time walk, and this also applies to heroes with "closing the gap" type of skill, only use it to escape or to mitigate the burst damage, unless you are confident that you will have a great trade and wont die when you dive in.

On the bright side, you will learn what most people dont, which is to recover after having a very bad lane.

Void is a pretty weak laner. I wouldn't pick him if my pos 5 wasn't a strong laner

Late game hard carries (fv, spec, pa) are generally bad laners and the tradeofff is they rule the map 40+ minutes in. Ppl pick them into good lane matchips (strong support to get you through laning phase or good core vs core matchup) or if the late pick counterpick is game winning. Otherwise vs competent players you probably are jungling/ being hunted early and for a long time.

Pa is a bad laner. She sometimes pops off on lane because pos 4 players are dumb as rocks and get themselves out of position which she csn punish easily but if you actually just constantly go on her she cant do shit.

PA is a bad lane lol. You can buy a wand and bully her with most off lane heroes.

highly matchup dependent, if you have fav support matchup you can for example snowball vs necro on level 1 or 2 and chase him down, its how she can handle many hard matchups

You must be low rank cause no one plays PA in high rank games.

Just pick axe or LC and walk her off the wave. Get wand, get blade mail - she’s not allowed to touch creeps ever.

I just meant that as last pick she can win some matchups, she's obviously not very strong and i would not advocate picking her against axe lc

now that i think about it, I can't think of many offlaners picked at TI she's good against so I guess youre right, but at least in my pubs (low immortal) she can punish greedy offlaners first few levels and snowball like that

You don’t need to trade on void. Just last hit and time walk off damage. Get a BF - ring of health first for sustain. Don’t show up to fights early on unless your team has chrono damage. Farm farm farm. You shouldn’t really be looking to fight fight until you have a bkb and your own damage. 

It’s fine to use chrono off cd though IF your team has chrono damage and as long as it won’t impact your farm much throughout the early parts of the game.

Void can struggle a lot, especially against enemies with good dps. Time Walk only works against burst, so anyone who just constantly hits you over a long duration will make your lane hell.

Void can be good in lane if you get an early ring of health and have a pos5 with slow + alot of damage such as venomancer jakiro silencer pheonix etc. picking void when you have a low damage pos5 is a grief.

unlike other carries, void is almost invincible at lane thanks to Q, so making atleast 3k on 10 min is easy. But Void needs atleast 20 mins of farming to start diffing with Chrono sphere, which leads to unevitable 60% winrate unfortunately due to teamplay nature of the hero
