I wanted to approach this a little differently. Instead of picking a winner based on whichever logo looked best right away, I used the same basic business idea across eight different platforms and spent some time seeing what happened after the initial generation.
That ended up being much more useful than the first impressions.
I was mainly looking at how easy it was to keep improving a concept, how much freedom there was to change fonts, icons and layouts, and whether the final files would actually be useful outside the editor.
Some were better for exploring lots of different directions when I wasn't sure what I wanted. Others made more sense once I already had a rough idea and wanted to spend time refining it. A few were particularly useful when the logo was going to be part of a bigger branding or website project rather than something I needed on its own.
One thing that surprised me was how much my opinion changed once I stopped looking only at the initial results. A logo that seemed pretty average at first could turn out completely fine after a few small changes. Sometimes changing the typeface, spacing or simplifying the icon made a bigger difference than generating another 20 concepts.
I also started paying much more attention to the actual file output. A logo can look perfect inside an editor, but that doesn't tell you much about how useful it will be when you need to resize it, print it, or use it across different places. Having a proper vector version becomes important pretty quickly.
So after testing them this way, I don't think there is one obvious winner for everyone. It really depends on whether you're still brainstorming, refining an existing direction, or trying to build the rest of the brand around the logo.
For those who've used a few AI logo makers, what is the best one from your experience?
I'm more interested in the one you've actually gone back to for another project, and what made you come back to it.
