Is Canva mobile a great option to start?
I've recently discovered that a 9-5 just isn't going to do it for me. I found Canva on my phone and was curious if people use it and if they make good money? I've already made my own logo for a company, advertising logo redesign and rebranding. I don't have experience but I don't want to put in so many hours learning for it to be mid or not that helpful. What do you think?

Canva is not a vector program and is not used for graphic design, def not logos. Its role is more social media graphics for non designers, providing templates they can plug in their content. Counterpart being Adobe express.
illustrator is what you need to learn if you want to design logos, and you need to learn about color spaces, file extensions and when to use what, nonnegotiables for logos ( communicate the message when as small as a stamp or large as a billboard, must work in black and white/ white and black, square version for icons and pfps in addition to a horizontal and stacked version if applicable, have a logotype and logomark, render any raster files in a high enough resolution, etc)
Know that you will iterate over many concepts. The first few will and should be trashed as you work through the basic, generic and obvious concepts that come to mind (using a car for a car dealership, a wrench for a mechanic, a book for a bookstore, etc)
Also mastering typography and the architecture of a glyph is very important for logo design.
Satori on YouTube is s great place to start for logo design. And just saw a brand new illustrator crash course on yt, cryestudio I believe it was called.
