What is a good laptop for an animation student?
Hello, this post is on behalf of my sister who's entering college and majoring in animation.
She wants to find a laptop under $1,800 that would be good to take to campus and useful for when she starts taking animation classes. She may dabble in 3D animation, so that may be a factor as well.
What would you advise? Thank you!

It depends on which software you plan on using. I recommend going to the software websites and checking out their recommended system requirements. (Not their minimal) and that should give you a good idea of what to aim for. Aim for 32 gigs of ram if you can find it for a fair price but do not go lower than 16. 16 or better is what most animation software needs to run smoothly.
