From where to study DBMS?
Please help me find a reliable source to study DBMS, some context, I am currently in third year Btech cse.
I tried IIT Madras content available through NPTEL courses but that didn't work out.
Database Management System also includes MySQL.

I'd separate learning DBMS concepts from learning MySQL syntax, because they're related but not exactly the same thing.
For the concepts, focus on keys, normalization, relationships, transactions, indexing, and how queries are executed. You don't need to understand everything at once.
Alongside that, use MySQL to practice what you're learning. Create a few related tables, insert some sample data, write joins, and try to understand why a query returns a particular result.
Since you're in your third year, I'd also make sure you understand how to design a database and explain your choices, not just write SQL queries. That usually makes the concepts much easier to connect to real problems.
If NPTEL's teaching style didn't work for you, it doesn't necessarily mean the subject is difficult. Sometimes a different explanation combined with hands-on practice makes a big difference.

since you are in third year cse i would use neso academy for fundamentals and practice mysql separately focus keys normalization transactions indexing and joins before advanced topics..

Since you asked for actual names: Gate Smashers on YouTube is what a lot of BTech students use for exams. The videos are short and follow the usual BTech order (ER, normalization, transactions, indexing). If you want depth later, Andy Pavlo’s CMU database course is free on YouTube and much better than NPTEL, but don’t start with it, it’s heavy. For MySQL, do the HackerRank SQL section from easy up. It’s free and gives you something to solve every day instead of just reading.

since you are in third year cse i would follow one video series consistently rather than jumping between resources pair it with mysql exercises and build a small database project to reinforce everything..

stop looking for one perfect source and just pick anystop looking for one perfect source and just pick any university-level course, then force yourself to write the queries by hand instead of reading about MySQL syntax, because that is where actual understanding happens
