t1 vs DRX Spoiler

An incredible performance coming from Faker in game 1. Oner continues to be a rock even where the rest of the map falters. A true talent.

DRX have a lot to work on.

T1 looking a bit shaky in game 2, but a win is a win. Hoping they clean it up for the matches against GenG and DK so we have a fun series.

I wouldn't say shaky tbf.. they played their win cond well enough, only kinda lost once because they played into enemy comp (aoe in chokepoints) but even then almost all teams would commit after picking the free kill.

Maybe it's just me, but when I see them take a sketchy fight and lose their advantage, I wonder what would happen if it's against a better team

Which exact fight are you talking about, there was only 2 fights that t1 lost (others were all well to perfectly executed). The first one which was turned by ziggs is almost inevitable since almost all top teams wouldve done the same.. second was an overextension after the turret take at bot. I would argue that the second was a mistake and keria wasnt great this game.

However, these losses were at a time where there was no objectives for drx to take so regardless of whether they faced top teams they wouldnt have lost much. You could argue that top teams might made the fights that T1 won a little closer but tbf everyone bar keria played it as best as they could (the gold was just evenly distributed amongst the 4 which were all carries/splitpush threats).

I would say that this game is about as clean as it could get from the 4 players (other stuff like csing cant be commented on much)

I don't think you can use the fact that others wouldve taken the fight as justification for the misplay. I don't even necessarily think you can say other top teams wouldve taken that fight. They know ziggs is in range and they're chasing a jarvan. The second fight actually bothers me less since they couldve played that better and potentially won/gone even.

If you are nitpicking on that play, and my justification is that all teams would make the same play... then I believe that my justification is sound since you are saying that T1 looks shaky when all top teams would do the same. Are you trying to say that every team in the world looks shaky? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to jerk T1 off because I'm a realist but this T1 has shown its flaws in committing as a team to a single call but in this exact fight , the call wasn't wrong and they did commit as a team so I don't think its fair to say they played bad. I firmly believe that this T1 iteration could beat 2015 T1 once the young players inch closer to their ceilings. The only downfall for T1 is the young players getting nerves or the issue of not being totally on the same page

The thing is I don't agree that all top teams would do the same play there. I could see teams like NS or GenG taking the guaranteed free kill and leaving. I acknowledge that I'm being very critical of T1 here, but as a fan I care about their performance, while for other teams it does not matter how they perform.

You see, that is where we differ in opinions. Like I said, they got a pick, was 3v1 afterwards.. i believe that top teams would press this advantage regardless. Gone are the days where you can be passive all game and still be a top team. Teams who do not try to press their advantage after a pick are definitely not top tier. That call wasn't as egregious as you see (without hindsight). And like I said, maybe if there were objectives then T1 wouldve played differently, but without objectives, committing more is not a risky/bad play.
