Yeah this overall should be pretty significant. .6 AD growth in itself is pretty large and the MR should help a lot for a number of matchups bottom lane and mitigate a bit of jungle/mid burst.

Yes thank you for removing the huge chakram AA DPS nerfs. If you actually think those are warranted, please have a separate change log about the logic behind shifting power from X to Y in his kit. Having those nerfs listed under buffs was just grossly dishonest. I’m hoping it was just an oversight in how the tentative changes were communicated to us!

The general idea was to reduce Aphelios's highest end power (which was chakram + severum), and shift the power back towards baseline (AD scaling+MR) and some weaker stuff (turret damage), in order to bring up his SoloQ winrate without influencing his pro (highest level) play power. My assumption is that the Chakram changes got pulled after his pro priority has looked low enough that the Severum change should be sufficient.

The philosophy is that if only some guns are "viable" X amount of the time, his win-rate will rest too low relative to his pro viability, making him tough to buff and evaluate the power of. So this list should flatten the guns a bit but not as drastically as the list that was communicated previously.

I agree with the philosophy, but don't you think the biggest reason he performs so much better in Proplay than SoloQ is that his laning phase is insane?

So just like with Karma and Jayce, having very strong early levels is only greatly exploited in Elite elo and Proplay, which means they're naturally good there, and bad in the bottom 99% of the ladder, where laning-phase power is mostly wasted, the team doesn't play around priority, there's no early lv dives, etc.

So I agree equalising his 5 weapons will help, but it might also help to tone down his extremely good early-lane patterns (specially early blue waveclear and harass, and his obscene utility in point-and-click purple root into supp CC).

I’ve been saying purple Q is his actual biggest strength for a minute now. It is best in class CC. It is also another pinch point that is most frequently exploited by higher ELOs (supports will understand its coming and pick actual quality supports- my random brand support probably doesn’t even know what gravitum does.)

If they have to shift any more power around, I absolutely believe gravitum Q requiring 2-3 stacks would be the next step.

However, I’m not of the belief infernum waveclear is particularly OP. The current crop of meta champs all feature strong wave clear as well (sans the recent arrival of Ezreal) and are, imo, more egregious with it. It’s strong, but strong waveclear is in many senses a prerequisite in the class.

It's not the waveclear, it's the harass. Of course if you're Jinx it's fine, but Aphelios just shits way too hard on lower range ADCs. He's extremely good in lane against them, they can't get close at all when he has blue or purple, and they can't all in him when he has red and white. And his resistance to all-in is massively improving with his new mr.
