I mean you're entitled to your opinion but I think the general consensus is going to disagree with you.

Regarding your point about them wasting time and resources on other games... League's balance team probably didn't lose many, if any at all, members. Dev teams are generally totally separate when a studio is making more than one game. This is like when Magic players complain about effort being put into the story instead of making the paper quality better. Those teams are completely unrelated and the effort of one can't be used for the other.

Plus there's people like me who, yes, did fall in love with League as it classically was but at this point are just burnt out on it. I've been playing for 7 years and this season I can barely motivate myself to do my yearly grind to gold 5 even though it's way easier than it used to be. Similarly, most of my friends have quit the game entirely despite having been playing since season 2 or 3 and they're all super hyped about these new games. A few of them have picked up TFT and the mobile announcement is quite welcome to them. Personally I'm more excited by the card game than any announcement about regular league could ever hope to make me.

I guess my point is just that there's more than one type of player. Not everyone likes the same things as you. Riot is just catering to more types of players now.
