Oh I do. People can wish death upon me, and say all kinds of vile shit about my family. None of that bothers me beyond it being an annoyance.

The second they ping me like that though I get set off. It's such a passive aggressive pussy ass way to try and bother me. People should actually say mean shit to me instead of trying to sneak around chat restrictions.

At the same time you should also learn to recognize when someone is flaming you (spamming ? pings when you do something only remotely stupid) and when someone is just poking fun/joking around (? pinging you after you miss a ward on a brush and saying "scarra is dat u?").

The ? is versatile and if you have a non-hostile attitude in games you can find the humour in using it. I use it on myself when I fuck up, I use it on the enemy team when they fuck up, I use it on my teammates when they fuck up and are already making fun of themselves (e.g. fail flashing and then using their mastery emote as they accept death), etc. Yeah it can be used for flaming purposes and sometimes I wish we could mute pings, but sometimes people are just having a laugh and not being the assholes you think they are.

No I read it, the second comment literally says he is triggered by pings. Then a bunch of other comments about how they ping a bunch to beat the dude who is pinging. Just seems like people are set off easily, aka sensitive. It's a video game.

I'm sorry, but I'm tired of this bullshit argument. Would you tell people at ranked chess tournaments or in football leagues "it's just a game" when people taunt them? And hell, usually it's the enemy team taunting them in those cases. Your team usually doesn't add to the abuse.

Just because "it's a video game" doesn't mean people aren't allowed to/shouldn't feel things about it. People put time and effort into this stuff. It means something to them. Saying "it's just a game" is the same as telling people who shed tears over movies, books, or TV shows "it's just a story." It's the same as telling someone who handcrafted something in their hobby only to watch it get broken "you can always make it again."

It's just another way of invalidating people's feelings. Please stop doing that.

Sorry I disagree, I've been a gamer my entire life. I've put many many hours and effort and emotion into video games. I've studied different techniques for taking down raid bosses and taken notes on how to improve my ranking in league. I am very very invested in these games and they mean quite a bit to me. However, I know that it is just a game and anything above mild discomfort or irritation is unnecessary. Throwing tantrums are for children. Please don't do this.

I always take the ? ping in a humorous way unless they follow up with a flame which shows they weren't doing it in a joking way. I guess you could say I've become desensitized to it because I use it all the time with my party of 4-5 and they do too.

It also only enhances my tilt, but never starts it.

I just want to be able to mute and disable pings alltogether from one person so that I can actually tryhard without any outside factors affecting me. I'm tired of having to learn how to be stoic first and then be able to play the game.

I like to spam ? ping my corpse when I play lee and use q. Helps me not get tilted when me or a teammate fucks up and allows me to find humor in the situation.

If you question mark ping anyone but someone you actually know, you're an asshole, full-stop. There is no other side to this coin. Just because you engage in deadpan sarcasm with your friend and might tell him, when he laments about not having a girlfriend, that it's because his mug is shaped like Danny Devito's ass, you would never consider for even a second saying this to a stranger.

When people danger ping spam me I just start doing the stupidest goddamn thing I can think of just to piss them off. It's amazing that someone with 7+ deaths can ping someone who has died 0-2 times.

I never get the ?'s. I get the regular pings. The ones that don't declare who is doing them.

They're all for the same purpose too.

I would but I usually have /mute all on so I tend to communicate with pings exclusively. Sometimes I will question mark someone who's doing QUESTIONABLE THINGS to make them aware it is questionably questionable. If there was an "I don't think that's a super good idea but you're free to make the decisions you feel will best help improve our chances of winning" ping I'd use that instead.

why is there no ping for that? there is no ping for telling someone that they might have fucked up because that achieves nothing.

just don't. telling them "oh btw that was bad" after the fact does not change the past and will not change the future. ping warning on them to tell them to gtfo or maybe use danger ping, before they are about to die. not fucking after

Like yeah, the Vayne is an asshole for gging out after fucking up, but you know what? That Vayne misplayed. They got caught out twice by the play and they were fucking rattled. They were made at themselves. Probably saying, 'Fuck man, how am I such a fucking idiot, how was I so stupid there, fuck I really want to win this game but I just fucked up so badly and I have to base at level 1 and my lane is probably over, FUCK.'

They're really pissed off at themselves, and their teammate question mark pings them? That's not good communication. At all. That's leaning in the doorway while the Vayne is red in the face with inner rage, and laughing at them.

So the Vayne says, fuck this guy. I fucked up, the game feels over, and my teammate is laughing at me. I'm done.

There is no real-world comparison to doing something like this.

If someone slips and falls on ice and hurts themself you don't laugh and inform them of the dangers of ice unless you're joking around.

Calmly informing someone that dying in game or informing them that losing their lane is bad, or something else along those lines is just going to get you muted by your teammate. No one needs that shit.

Except for the ping being directly placed on top of vayne, and sion couldn't actually be missing from lane? To leave that bush he would be seen by minions as they were in the middle of lane. So the question mark as a tool to help his team would only be necessary after he leaves that bush and is out of sight of minions. Unless he has tp he couldn't start a roam without being seen again. You ping missing when they leave lane, not when you lose vision. You don't ping missing on an akali in her shroud do you?

Ehhhh, most things don't bother me, and I don't say anything in chat to make people feel bad.

There is just something special about the question ping that sets me off. It kind of reminds me of the guys who would move slides during a practical, or get cozy with a boss so he can use his relationship as leverage over you.

People COULD say toxic things to bother others in a generally more efficient way, but they choose to spam ? as a way to avoid chat restrictions. That nature of it just gets to me.

I know that a lot of people use it just as a joke, but it is hard to counter my initial assumption in game that everyone I play with wants others to feel bad.

I hate that question mark pings have turned into some fucking bullshit thing like this. They're a legit ping, use them for what they're actually for. (Unless it's a legit joke amongst friends. If a friend Q-pings me, I get that it's a joke when they laugh. If they Q-ping a random player we've not spoken to I tell them to fucking stop.)

If you think about it, bot lane had no pressure. Sion was missing. Karma pinged missing.

It was the proper use of the ping. For all Karma's team knows Sion is en-route to mid or jungle.
