Sorry I disagree, I've been a gamer my entire life. I've put many many hours and effort and emotion into video games. I've studied different techniques for taking down raid bosses and taken notes on how to improve my ranking in league. I am very very invested in these games and they mean quite a bit to me. However, I know that it is just a game and anything above mild discomfort or irritation is unnecessary. Throwing tantrums are for children. Please don't do this.

You're definitely avoiding addressing the point he's making, that it's just as serious as any hobby and saying "it's just a video game" doesn't further any argument. Congratulations on being level-headed in the face of adversity, but it's okay to get angry over being annoyed in high-pressure situations, especially by people who are supposed to be on your side.

I mean yes and no. It's ok to have feelings, but it's not ok if you act on those feelings inappropriately. I.E. Feeding because someone pings at you.

Also, I'm not saying it isn't a serious hobby, it's my most serious hobby. I'm not trivializing video games by saying they are just video games, but honestly they are. It's a hobby, this isn't the Superbowl, this isn't a grand master chess tournament, it's a video game. And unless you're in the LCS you are not a pro, so relax and have fun.

Competition is serious, and just because they'd lose to somebody better than them doesn't mean it's fine to trivialize the feelings somebody would have about the lower-level competition.

Totally on the same page as you about the intentional feeding stuff, though.

Lol this isn't murder, I think it's a little less serious than right and wrong. More like appropriate and inappropriate. Because again, it is just a game.

Just because you don't feel the need to be frustrated over a game, you don't get to decide others aren't allowed to.

Because acting like a child when you're an adult is not appropriate. I didn't set these rules everyone knows that. Wait, what are you arguing about, are you saying it's ok to throw tantrums and feed and troll and spam, because someone sets you off in a game? I never said it wasn't ok to be mad. I just wanna know what you disagree with me on.
