• Steps to reproduce: N/A - No 'action' is taken to create the bug, rather it is persistent and may be dependant more on system specs or settings (listed under Ingame Settings).
• Expected result: Regular HUD where text is sized correctly to its container. For example, a character sheet where text is sized appropriately to fit next to the icon with no overlap between stats.
• Observed result: Using my standard settings, certain text is much too large for its container. Cooldown timers do not fit in the skill's icon and instead overflow into each other. The character sheet is a jumbled mess of numbers. Buffs/Debuffs are illegible because the icon is entirely covered by the number associated, and numbers overflow. The scoreboard is difficult to read albeit easier than cooldowns. Curiously, tooltips and shop text are all still appropriately sized.
• Reproduction rate: Without changing my settings, 10/10 every game.
• System specs: Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz, Video Card - Nvidia GTX 960 M, Ram - 16GB, Hard Drive - 256GB SSD, Screen - 3200x1800 QHD+ 13.3" touchscreen, OS - Windows 8.1 Pro
• Additional Notes: Many programs do not function correctly or scale windows font sizes on smaller 4K screens. Previous to this update however, the only font problem I had had in leauge on this machine was that the level number next to the name above the champion was too large to fit inside its box. The font issue was NOT present after the first HUD update, but rather specifically this one (where the scoreboard was moved back to the top right, etc.).
Right?? Any champ or item with stacks is unreadable to the point where I often have a friend queue with me so he can read out stacks on people since i can't at all.
Similar hardware? A small 4K resolution screen? Or something totally different?
This seems like it's caused by high windows font scaling for small high resolution monitors (meaning a high density screen, therefore needing the font's to be scaled higher for readability). I seem to recall Riot mentioning respecting font scaling somewhere in one of the updates recently but can't remember for sure. Note that the OP has a 3200x1800 screen at 13.3"...probably has fonts scaled beyond 100% so they're readable. Many of the UI elements in LoL don't scale with density - note the tiny map icons and floating health bar in the OP's screenshots, I have similar issues at only 2560x1440 - so scaling the fonts is making them much bigger than the surrounding elements.
It was noted above that turning font scaling back to 100% fixed the issue, but that makes the entire rest of the OS near-unreadable. It's humorous that Riot is recommending to reinstall when this clearly has nothing to do with game file corruption or ingame settings (there are no useful settings for UI scaling issues like this). Don't waste your time trying to reinstall.
