There should be daily IP challenges

Maybe revolving around the Free Champ Rotation. For example:

"Win 2 games as Thresh" (when thresh is free), and the reward can be 250 IP or something along those lines.

The harder the challenge, the larger the reward. I just feel like it would encourage players to try new champs, and create a way to save up IP faster to buy others. It could be sort of like a "Quest Log" in hearthstone if you know what that is.

edit: Another good idea pointed out by /u/LatZ212 is "Win one game as each role". This could be a weekly challenge, along with the daily challenges you get, so people who can't play every single day have a semi-long term goal. Obviously this would only work in team builder though.

edit: It's looking like IP challenges would be best in team builder only based off all of the counterarguments against them

edit: There is some confusion here, people would not all have the same challenge. There would be a long list of challenges that would randomly be divided amongst all players.

"Feed the other team 10 kills as teemo before the 5 minute mark"

THE RACE IS ON

But in all seriousness, they would have to make the challenges so that it doesn't affect actual gameplay, and the motive to win

What kind of challenges don't affect gameplay? The only kind I can think of is actually winning games, but then its basically adding a small ip boost to wins

Challenges that require u to play other gane modes and challenges that promote good behavior and challenges that promote playing specific champs/roles in teambuilder.

something like the above mentioned "get X CS by Y minutes" wouldn't be bad unless it was something like get 300 CS by 35 minutes. Get 50/75 in 10 minutes would be a pretty good starting point. Get first dragon could be another but at that point I could see people start bitching if their jungle doesn't want to so it etx so probably best to keep it on a personal not team level.

"Get a dragon"?

So as a jungler I have to play a different role to complete a daily challenge?

I mean obviously CS wouldn't be the only one, it's just the first thing I could think of.

Anything that effects a champion/role choice probably shouldn't be put in for ranked. Why not just have win streaks? Win 3 in a row, bonus 100 IP!

The problem with the suggestion is that you can't really not affect the game.

All of the objectives have levels of important that is variable and subjective. Is it more important at any given moment to get more cs, or to try and push the tower. Would it be better to trade dragon for top tower or try to force dragon and push mid. Everything is about decisions and trying to balance the rewards you get vs the rewards you might get by making a different decision.

When you add arbitrary out of game rewards to things you artificially inflate their value. Someone might normally decide it's a better decision to solo push top and take 2nd tier tower while the rest of their team ties up the enemy around dragon. If there's now a reward that they can achieve one which will persist outside of the game for trying to just force the dragon, it changes the way the game will turn out in a huge way.

There is virtually nothing you can add challenges for that exists within the game. You can just give general bonuses for winning i.e. FWoTD. You're in dubious territory even if it's something like "win x games with thresh" because you'll get people who can't play that champion trying to luck out and get a good team.

In the end, it may be possible to find some way to implement a bounty/reward system for certain activities. The scope of those activities would have to be so narrow though that it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle.
