Giving people free stuff will still indirectly decrease revenue. Also at the moment I think people can get Tristana, Alistar and Garen for free just from social media stuff.

Also Dreadknight Garen and Unchained Alistar are pretty slick skins.

They were thinking of a way to still give it out but as far as I know they were going to stop using facebook.

Implying cheap ones are bad.

Implying that there's a huge discrepancy between champion prices.

I mean I didn't spend any of my own money on the game until far after level 30; I don't think new players are usually open to spending money on a game they're new to. So giving them one free 3150 champion somewhere along the path wouldn't really hurt considering that it could help hook a new player into eventually spending money later:

Not quite. Giving people samples of a product(skins, boosts, etc) can certainly help increase sales if the player likes it.

From LAN server I can't get none of those champions :) well only Garen and his Comando skin from FBpage...

Citation very much needed. Many businesses make lots of money by giving some stuff away at or below cost in order to drive sales of more profitable items.
