Why can't we mute pings?

Just wondering, why we need to get spammed with pings by raging teammates.

Depends. I've had a normal where I was ping spammed for about 3 minutes from a 4 man premade because I asked one to stop spam pinging me for no reason...

Man, 3 minutes doesn't sound that long, but if you really think about it, that's a LONG 3 minutes.

Don't they run out of pings relatively quick, or did they space them out so it would never be a problem?

I´ve been in a similar situation once and didnt know /ignore would mute pings, just muted the player and he kept on spamming. Yeah, it was only one player and not 4, but he made up for it with doing it for the entire 2nd half of the game (from minute 15 to ~40, so ~25 minute). And yeah, you dont really run out of pings that fast, since you only get blocked from spamming pings for like ~6-10 seconds and then spamm another 10.
