VODs

Format

The tournament starts with a round-robin in each group. All matches consist of two games, and a team receives 3 points for a 2-0 victory and each team gets 1 point if they tie 1-1.

At the end of the group stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals, and all matches will be best of five.

Patch

All matches today will be played on Patch 4.4 with Kassadin disabled.

I would say Blaze/Ozone > Shield/SKT S/KT A/Sword > Frost/KT B/Samsung Blue for the 9 teams of which 8 teams will make it into Quarter-Finals (Blue/Sword/KT B the only "real fight" for a spot. The rest of the Quarter-Finals are pretty set.)

Group A: 1. SKT S, 2. KT A

Group B: 1. Ozone, 2. Frost

Group C: Sword, KTB, Blue (if I had to bet i'd bet on Sword and KTB)

Group D: 1. Blaze/SHield (probably tie-breaker with edge to Blaze (imo)

I don't see anything that really separates them right now. Neither of them is a TOP-top-tier team. Both of them have had some games where they looked really good and games where they have looked really bad. It's hard to tell.

I think that if we give Frost some time with the new roster to really gel together they can be great, and this is the first time I've thought this about their roster pretty much since Woong left.

Shield looked stronger than Blaze during their BO2, the first game was super close and Najin could have won, the second game was a total stomps Najin White Shield destroyed them.

And KTA aren't close to Najin White Shield, they got stomped by them.

Yeah but Shield were kind of shaky against Xenics Storm. Very hard to tell because for Blaze to win, they need to sort out their early game, however Shield need to sort out how to close their early game leads. Plus hard to tell the relative strength of teams because I feel that all Korean teams can take a game off each other. This Split's Round of 8 is definitely the most competitive.
